The award ceremony of the 1st best metro ads competition "the Best of the Best", which was organized by STDecaux, was held in JC Mandarin Hotel on 7th June 2012. There were more than 280 guests from relevant government departments, Shen Tong Metro Group, advertisement agencies and well-known local or overseas companies.
The best metro ads competition "The Best of the Best" is an advertisement competition in the Greater China region organized by the biggest outdoor advertising corporation in the world, JCDecaux Group. The outstanding metro ads cases of year 2011 were assessed according to the design and media application as well as other criteria. Cases successfully combining great use of metro media formats and a skillful creation were appreciated.
The organizer of the competition, STDecaux is operating advertisement areas in all 11 lines of the Shanghai Metro, which represents more than 280 stations. In the past few years, the ad business was booming in the Shanghai metro and STDecaux became the leader of metro media companies in China.
Witnessing a rapid business growth, STDecaux successfully improved and optimized its many different media formats. The metro media differentiation advantage and value have been recognized by the public. The various and upgraded metro media formats have become the favorite advertising media of many famous brands. New digital media formats are currently being rapidly developed. The dynamic and fashionable high-definition digital media and innovative media are both combining the fun and great visual effects appreciated by the public.

Second, with the concept of "the best of the best", Shanghai metro media continue to develop and to improve quality in order to establish the differentiation advantage, which will become the highlight in the Shanghai international metropolis city culture construction.
The judge sessions of the competition were held a month prior to the event. Top experts from famous universities, professional media and prestigious 4A advertisement agencies selected the awarded works by collecting and assessing ad campaigns. Furthermore, the competition put in place a voting platform for metro commuters on STDecaux's official website in order to select the passengers' favorite metro innovative ads. It perfectly demonstrates STDecaux's willingness to reach the concept of "metro ads to be the best in the public".
