On the occasion of the 90th founding anniversary of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC), CYLC Shanghai Committee and Shanghai Charity Foundation (SCF) jointly launched the Eighth Shanghai Youth Fashion Festival. In the morning of 5th May, this large-scale public welfare event held its launching ceremony in Shuimen Dock of Qinhuangdao Road. Chairman of the CPPCC Shanghai Committee and Chairman of SCF Feng Guoqin, Secretary of CYLC Shanghai Committee Pan Min, Yangpu District Party Secretary Chen Yin and some other leaders attended the ceremony. Following last year's participation in support of the Seventh Shanghai Youth Fashion Festival, JCDecaux China once again worked together with CYLC ShanghaiCommittee this year to participate in this public welfare event as a co-organizer.
Having been held for eight consecutive years, Shanghai Youth Fashion Festival is a public welfare brandand innovative project launched by CYLC Shanghai Committee to demonstrate its strength and advocate the fashion of youth. On the occasion of the 90th founding anniversary of CYLC, with the great support from SCF, CYLC Shanghai Committee launched the large-scale public welfare event 2012 Shanghai Youth Fashion Festival on the theme of “Our Young Demeanor”. Carrying this theme, young people from various youth social groups of the city, institutions and enterprises, districts and countries, colleges and universities travelled along the 19 urban routes by subways and buses, on foot or in other green ways, around the subtheme of “low-carbon living ,unlimited creativity, readily public welfare and multiple cultures”. When traveling, they asked for citizens’ creativity on ”time fragments for micro public welfare”, experienced creative project road shows by youth social groups, and participated in trendy youth culture shows, original music parties and other activities, so as to disseminate the concept of charity and public welfare, and actively practice the city value orientation of “integrity, tolerance, responsibility and justice”.
As a co-organizer, JCDecaux China continues to promote this Festival with its own media resources of metro and bus body. On 5th May, the day of the opening, the publicity picture of Shanghai Youth Fashion Festival were displayed on five metro lightboxes and five bus bodies running on Huaihai Road and Yan’an Road.
"JCDecaux China is willing to participate and support charitable activities like Shanghai Youth Fashion Festival. The youth undoubtedly occupy a large proportion of metro passengers. We hope that our communications can expand the influence of the Festival among youth so that more people of them will participate in the dissemination and practice of public welfare, to show their own young demeanor," said Ms. Tina Li, Director of Marketing and Communications, JCDecaux China.
Different from previous events, this Festival innovatively put forward the way of "Donation Solicitation with Materials" and raised up to various types of materials worth RMB 286,000. It also raised funds for at least 1,000 migrant children who have visual acuity less than 0.4 in order to provide them with optometry free of charge. Additionally, it set up 19 "Fashion Innes" in the urban center of the city. A total of 28 youth social groups displayed a variety of public objects to the public, to inject youthful vigor into urban management and social services with unique creativity and public welfare behavior.
