Jean-Charles Decaux & Jean-Francois Decaux won the award for Top Family Business Leader. The Campden FB European Families in Business Awards 2012 took place last night in Amsterdam at the Heineken experience building. The Top Family Business Leader Award is awarded to the outstanding family business leader in Europe who has set exemplary standards in pursuing business practices in family business stewardship, succession planning and corporate governance and has also overseen a business that has achieved long-term growth and profit performance.

David Bain Editor of Campden FB and a judge for the awards said:"Family businesses are crucial to the health of the European economy representing more than 60% of all European companies and accounting for close to 50% of all employment. Tonight's winners and indeed all the shortlisted candidates represent the pinnacle of family business success in Europe."

Guido Corbetta a professor at Milan's Bocconi University and a judge for the awards said:"Family business are long-term oriented companies. In these last few months we have seen all the problems created by short-termism. Family business could be a form of modern capitalism closer to the community and to all the stakeholders."

Jean-Francois Decaux Co-CEO said:"We are a second generation acting like the first one with a very strong entrepreneurial spirit having taken the business created by our father in France in over 50 countries in less than 30 years while remaining the controlling shareholder and creating value for all stakeholders."
