On 14 November,2012, the 2012 Fifth ROI Festival Annual Award ceremony was held at the Shanghai Center Theatre, which was attended by members of the advertising industry from Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Taiwan who witnessed the announcement of the winners in various categories including Agency (Media Services), Media Company and Products and Solutions. JCDecaux China was awarded the 2012 Fifth ROI Festival Annual Award - Best Media Company Award while ZenithOptimedia, Hylink and Sina were awarded Best Media Agency of the Year, Best Digital Agency of the Year and Best Digital Media of the Year, respectively. The works submitted by the subsidiaries of JCDecaux China, such as Beijing Top Result Metro Advertising Co., Ltd., Shanghai Shentong JCDecaux Metro Advertising Co., Ltd., and Nanjing Metro JCDecaux Advertising Co., Ltd. also won the recognition of the ROI Festival Award Committee which handed these companies with various awards in the Media Company category.
Organized by Disanzhongren Media, the ROI Festival Award gives recognition to the most budget savvy companies in the field of communication and marketing that achieve the greatest impact with the smallest marketing budgets. Since its establishment in 2007, the ROI Festival Award has grown to become the largest and most influential awards in the field of professional advertising and marketing in the Greater China region. For the 2012 Fifth ROI Festival Annual Award, the world's largest accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers acted as the independent counter of votes, ensuring with its global experience and professional approach the fairness and objectivity of the awards and helping the ROI Festival Awards to attain the status of the most influential professional awards in Greater China and Asia, and even the world.
For the 2012 Fifth ROI Festival Award, 452 companies from Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Taiwan submitted a total 2,894 entries, of which, 88 entries emerged as winners, representing winning odds of just three percent.
Entries submitted by Beijing Top Result Metro Advertising Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of JCDecaux China, awarded “Ad Recognition through Scent - the Camay Fragranced Wall Display” and “Non-visual Photography - Seeing the World with the Heart: Metro Exhibition of Photography by the Blind” won the Gold Award in the “Media Company - Outdoor (Cosmetics and Personal Products)” category and the Gold Award in the “Media Company - Outdoor (Public Service Advertising)” category, respectively, at the Fifth ROI Festival Award. The Amazon Brand Promotion Project by Beijing Top Result Metro Advertising Co., Ltd. won the Silver Award in the “Media Company (Group - Outdoor - Network Service)” category at the Fifth ROI Festival Award. STDecaux’s Adidas advertising pillar won the bronze award in the “Media Group (Outdoor - Sportswear)” category and the Nokia release at the Nanjing Xinjiekou metro station by Nanjing Metro JCDecaux Advertising Co., Ltd. won award nomination in the “Media Group (Outdoor - Electronics and Computer)” category at the Fifth ROI Festival Award.
